Heading West!

We're getting back on the road and heading west. Here is a map of our route, followed by a list of our travel stops and some things we plan to do while in the area.We expect to put more than 5,000 miles on the motor home in about 18 weeks. It will be fun!

• Tuscon, AZ - About a week. Saguaro National Park, Kartchner Caverns State Park, Coronado National Memorial, Chiricahua National Monument
• Gila Bend, AZ - About a week. Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument. Phoenix (Desert Botanical Garden, Heard Museum, Phoenix Zoo)
• San Diego, CA - About a week. San Diego Zoo, friends
• Las Angeles, CA - About two weeks. Visit family and friends, Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, Coachella Valley Preserve, Thousand Palms (San Andreas fault), Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area. Universal Studios Hollywood
• Joshua Tree National Park, CA - A couple days
• San Luis Obispo, CA - About two weeks. Hearst Castle, Pismo Beach, Montana De Oro State Park, Paso Robles, Scenic Hwy 46, Morro Bay
• Monterey, CA - About a week. Pinnacles National Park, Big Sur, Monterey Bay Aquarium, Carmel Mission Basilica/Museum, Winchester Mystery House in San Jose
• San Francisco, CA - About 5 days. Visit family and friends, San Francisco city tour, Alcatraz tour, Presidio, Travis AFB
• Lancaster, CA - A few days. California Poppy Festival, April 18th & 19th
• Yermo, CA - A few days. Calico Ghost Town
• Las Vegas, NV - A few days. The Vegas strip, a couple shows, Nellis AFB
• Lake Havasu City, AZ - A couple days. London Bridge
• Flagstaff, AZ - A couple days. Barringer Crater in Winslow or Montezuma Castle National Monument
• Albuquerque, NM - A few days. Visit friends. New Mexico Museum of Natural History & Science
• Santa Fe, NM - About 3 days. Georgia O'Keeffe Museum, St. Francis Cathedral Basilica of Assisi, San Miguel Chapel, Loretto Chapel, Bandelier National Monument
• Carlsbad Caverns, NM - A couple days. Carlsbad Caverns
• San Antonio, TX - A few days. The Alamo, River Walk, Bandera
